"Council passes $500K to social services agencies." Merced Sun-Star 9-9-09
Love INC, was approved to receive $70,000 from the City of Merced to help administer the 2009 American Recovery and Reinvestment Act's Homelessness Prevention and Rapid Re-Housing Program (HPRP).
This stimulus funding is intended to help people living in the city of Merced who are affected by the downturn in the economy and find themselves facing possible homelessness or who are already homeless.
Love INC is currently taking requests from community members for assistance from HPRP. Assistance is intented to target two groups facing housing instability:
1. Individuals and families who are currently in housing, but are at risk of becoming homeless and need temporary rent assistance to prevent them from becoming homeless, or assistance to move to another unit.
2. Individuals and families who are experiencing homelessness and need temporary assistance in order to obtain housing and retain it.
